Driving Projects with Creativity & Elevating ATD Conferences

Ross Tartell, Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychology and Education, Columbia University Teachers College; ATD Northeast Regional Conference Chair

Laurie and I have worked together as Northeast ATD Conference Design Team members for the last two years. The team is responsible for all the content and speakers for a large professional conference. She has been an incredibly valuable member of the team. She has a rare combination of creativity and attention to detail, enabling her to drive critical projects to completion. In addition, Laurie ingeniously overcomes the inevitable obstacles with any major project, especially one staffed only by volunteers. Her humor, focus, and drive made her an extremely valuable team member. I would have her as a teammate on any project, and I look forward to working with her for future conferences.

Strengthening Financial Leadership & Advancing ATD's Mission

Nancy McMonigal, Former President, Association for Talent Development (ATD), San Diego Chapter

I've been privileged to work with Laurie for the past few years through the Association for Talent Development (ATD) in San Diego. Her experience and thoughtfulness that she applies to her Board of Directors role as CFO is respected by the Board and the membership. She has applied innovative solutions, collaborative processes, and teamwork skills to help us understand the organization's financials and how we can improve our fiscal health. We might not love the analytics as Laurie does, but her working style has allowed all of us to better appreciate this role and the benefits that Laurie brings to our chapter.

Exceeding Expectations with Warmth

Elaine Hester, Board Member, ATD San Diego

As CFO for ATD's San Diego Chapter, Laurie is as thorough as can be. In just a few months, she has exceeded the expectations of her position and found ways to not only grow the finances of the association, but to share the wealth with the board through training incentives. She is careful to seek out input and approval from other board members before implementing strategic alterations, and always puts the needs of others first, both personally and professionally. In person, Laurie is warm and friendly, and the more you get to know her, the more her inner light is revealed. I see Laurie as a strong candidate for the next President-Elect, and she would be an asset to any position that she commits herself to.
